The Orators is Nigeria’s Premier Public Speaking Contest.
The program is designed to build the oratory, leadership and innovation skills of young leaders between the ages of 18 - 25.
The Orators Program is an intensive, in-depth public speaking competition. The program conducts thorough examination of oratory and leadership skills, which begins online, prior to the on-site program.
The Vision of “The Orators” is to build young Nigerian leaders by giving them the oratory skills, leadership wisdom and innovative abilities they need to excel in life and career.

Eligibility Criteria
Must be a Nigerian citizen |
Must be aged 18 at the time of application and not older than 25. |
Must be currently enrolled in a University or college education or have graduated from a University/College. |
Must be WILLING and ABLE to attend the "The Orators Academy" in the chosen location. |
Must ADHERE to all Terms and Conditions of the Program |

Competition Process and Timeline
Step 1: Deadline: October 14th, 2024 Apply to Participate |
Step 2: October 1st - 16th, 2024 Our team will review applications on a rolling basis and notify you if you are selected |
Step 3: October 21st - 26th, 2024 You will be invited to attend the Orators Online Audition via Zoom |
Step 4: October 31st, 2024 Only the Top 30 will be invited as Semi-finalists |
Step 5: November 18th - 23rd, 2024 30 Semi-finalists will attend the Online Bootcomp and the top 12 finalists will be chosen |
Step 6: December 18th - 21st, 2024 Top 12 finalists attend the “Grand Finale” in Abuja. Accommodation, feeding and transportation support will be provided. |
Judging Criteria
The Orators competition places a premium on holistic development. Contestants will be evaluated based on the following key criteria:
Criteria 1: Coachability - Demonstrated willingness to learn and grow from feedback. |
Criteria 2: Research Rigor - Capacity to gather and analyze information effectively. |
Criteria 3: Clarity of Thought - Ability to articulate ideas clearly and logically. |
Criteria 4: Excellent Presentation - Strong delivery, stage presence, and audience engagement. |
Criteria 5: Attitude - Positive mindset, grit, enthusiasm, and sportsmanship. |
